Piyusha Majumdar, Ph.D

“Bridging Policy and Delivery Gap Through Knowledge Translation in the Area of Public Health”

Prof. Piyusha Majumdar has a Ph.D. and Masters in Anthropology from the Department of Anthropology, University of Delhi. She is an alumnus of Miranda House College, working as an Associate Professor at SDG School of Public Health, IIHMR University, Jaipur. She is a public health Specialist and implementation Researcher. Participated in a multi-country research project “STRIPE – Synthesis and Translation of Research and Innovation in Polio Eradication” towards developing the global curriculum “Implementation Science of Global health” in consortium with Johns Hopkins Bloomberg school of public health and other consortium partners from seven countries. She has been instrumental in Designing High-Quality Project Proposals for National and International clients and brilliantly implemented Multiple Research Projects in the area of Implementation Research, Public Health, Child Health & Nutrition, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, Tobacco control and Health communication. Some of the prestigious international projects were awarded by UNICEF, World Lung Foundation, Institute of Health Metrics & Evaluation, USA and International Union against TB & Lung Diseases. As a faculty at IIHMR, she has been vigorously involved in guiding, mentoring and teaching MBA students. She has plethora of publications for national and international journals. She is also an Editorial Board member for Academic Journal of Anthropological Studies and Review Editor for Frontiers in Tropical Diseases, Health Policy and Planning and Asia Pacific Journal of Health Management

Dr Mohammed A. Abdalqader

“Special Challenges for Lower/Middle-Income Countries”

Dr. Mohammed Abdalqader works both independently and within a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team, has the ability to coordinate a range of different activities, has strong problem-solving skills and the ability to improvise, track-record by research gate of more than 60 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals in the public health, epidemiology, nutrition, and others related fields to community health among the Malaysian society, a mentor for a vast number of students and researchers. Worked for 8 years as a senior lecturer in the community medicine department at the International Medical School (IMS), Management and Science University (MSU), Shah Alam and a supervisor of a number of undergraduate and postgraduate students at the master’s and PhD level. Currently working as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Cyberjaya (UOC), Faculty of Medicine/Community Medicine Department.
Dr. Mohammed Abdalqader is a dedicated researcher, able to lead and design research activities, a principal investigator in many projects, and a committed senior lecturer for 8 Years in the medical school, innovative in the 21st century teaching methods, flip classes, student-centred classes, carry exam invigilation duties, conduct a different range of workshops from SPSS, Research methodology, publications, and Qualitative Research Methods; etc.

Having a piece of vast knowledge and experience in biostatistics and a mastery level in statistical software like SPSS and JASP. Dr. Mohammed’s master’s degree was gained from Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in the family health field, and the PhD degree in community health from the same university was in the Geriatric/Elderly field in the year 2015. Dr. Mohammed was involved in many community services and health screening for the urban poor and the Orang Asli communities and was able to communicate in Bahasa.

Dr Mohd Izuan Ibrahim

“Lesson From the COVID-19 Pandemic: Prevention and Control for Publics”

Dr. Mohd Izuan Ibrahim currently working as a senior lecturer and researcher at the Centre for Diagnostic, Therapeutic and Investigative Studies (CODTIS), Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He got a PhD in the clinical radiology sciences field and specialized in eye tracking, saccade, diagnostic imaging, and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). 

Dr. Mohd Izuan Ibrahim is actively conducting academic research in measuring human brain activity while performing eye movement and relating it with common eye movement disorders such as strabismus, nystagmus, and dyslexia. He also used the eye-tracker to study the eye movement pattern among university students, radiographers and health professionals while performing visual tasks. In terms of research methodology, he is familiar with the Statistical Parametric Mapping for human brain mapping technique, Jamovi for statistical test analysis and Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software used in systematic review and meta-analysis studies.

Dr. Mohd Izuan Ibrahim also has a strong background in teaching and learning for higher education. He teaches clinical anatomy, pathology, radiography, magnetic resonance imaging, research methodology, statistics, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation subjects in the university where he worked. He is also very keen on applying new technology in teaching and learning such as massive open online courses, Quizizz, Socrative, Kumospace, Padlet, and many more.

Dr. Pranil Man Singh Pradhan

“Building a Healthier Nepal: The Vital Role of Community Medicine Specialists”

Dr. Pranil Man Singh Pradhan is an Associate Professor at the Department of Community Medicine and Public Health at Maharajgunj Medical Campus, Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. He holds an M.B.B.S (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and an MD (Doctor of Medicine in Community Medicine and Tropical Diseases) degree from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, Nepal. Dr. Pradhan received a Diploma in Global Health from Tanzania and a Fellowship in Translational Research in Cardiovascular Diseases from Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences. He is a Bernard Lown Scholar in Cardiovascular Health and a visiting scientist at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He received the Young Scientist Award 2019 by the Nepal Health Research Council. He has designed competency-based Community Medicine curriculum for Purbanchal University and Gandaki University. He is a member of the subject committee and visiting faculty for MSc. Environmental and Occupational Health Program at Nepal Open University. He is trained and supervised numerous Masters level students in Community Medicine and Public Health. He has published multiple articles in tobacco and alcohol control, nutrition and occupational health. Dr. Pradhan serves as an Academic Editor for PLOS One and PLOS Global Public Health. He has served as a co-investigator in NIH (D71), Harvard School of Public Health and Cancer Research UK funded projects on NCDs and tobacco control. He currently serves as a member of Institutional Review Committee (IRC) at Institute of Medicine. Dr. Pradhan is the Founding Member Secretary and Current President of the Nepalese Society of Community Medicine (NESCOM)
